Celebrating PBPD’s Milestone – The 25th PBPD Anniversary and General Assembly

July 5, 2021

"Sixteen months ago, our lives were upended in ways none of us could have ever imagined. Fear of the unknown was the order of the day and we all seemed to be groping in the dark. The human spirit, however is amazingly resilient. Founded on a growing body of science and fueled by faith, kindness and generosity, we begin to see windows of light in the dark bubble that is the COVID-19 pandemic.

Today, we look back with gratitude at 25 years of the Philippine Board of Pediatric Dentistry and its contributions to the dental profession and we look forward to inspiring like-minded dentists as we start on the road to gold." – Dr. Maria Rosario Eala, PBPD Chairperson

The Philippine Board of Pediatric Dentistry celebrated it's milestone 25th Anniversary last July 5, 2021 with VP Leni Robredo as Keynote Speaker and Dr. Angelo Militante, current PDA President with a special message to the guests which included the officers and diplomates of the PBPD, chairpersons of the different specialty boards, members, officers and past Presidents of the Philippine Pediatric Dental Society Inc.

Celebrating the Past. Inspiring the Future.

The following PBPD Journey chronicles the 25-year journey of the Philippine Board of Pediatric Dentistry. The photos and interviews describe the start of the board, its challenges and achievements and its vision and plans for the future.

General Assembly

A toast for the 25th General Assembly by Dr. Paul Abaya aptly describes the contribution of PBPD to our profession.

The 25th PBPD General Assembly

"Dear friends and colleagues, I spent yesterday afternoon among fisherfolk in my home province. How easy it is to overlook the labor and resources that allow us, in turn, to enjoy the bounty of our land. When I think of our work, I consider, too, the "smallness" of our labor—essential but often overlooked. This Board, in particular, has done much to heighten our public profile in order to hold us accountable to higher standards of care. For 25 years we have done this in friendship and commitment.

My sincere thanks to each of you for the sharing of time, effort, and talent to uplift the wellbeing of our community. We raise our glasses to toast this good work together. Cheers!"
